Progress

I have started to make a little progress on the felt rug
So i thought I'd share
I haven't started attaching the balls to one another yet
But I have made quite a few balls

If you would like to make felt balls for a project your working on
They are really easy
I started with a wool yarn core
So I didn't have to use as much wool roving

Then when you have your core
You take the wool and wrap it around your ball
Then you do the same thing going in the other direction
Keep in mind when you wet it it is going to shrink a bit

Then you that the ball covered in wool
and you put it in a bowl of HOT water with 4 table spoons or so of dish soap
The dish soap is really important in the felting process
Sometimes I put the soap right on the ball instead of in the water

Anyway as soon as you get it wet and soapy
You start to roll it back and forth in you hands
Every once in a while you should dip it back in the hot water
The hotter your water the faster it will felt
When you see that all of the fibers are tightly together
Then your felt ball is done

I really wished you lived nearby, so you could come over and REALLY show me. Your future daughter-in-law is the luckiest little girl...if she's born yet. And, if you get a little girl in the future, she's lucky too.

We already know B is lucky. :)
