I have been trying like crazy to get a family picture of the four of us
But it has been more of a challenge then expected
I have been on a mission for months now
And I still have not been able to get one shot that works for me
Here are a few of my recent attempts
They aren't horrible
But they are just not what I had in mind
This ones kinda cute but Michael's face makes me laugh
And the baby points at everything
But at least she is looking in the direction of the camera
With half a smile
I think it might have something to do with
Using a 50mm lens on a tripod
And then wind sprinting back to the family
trying to get in the picture before the timer goes off
Next time I am going to bring someone along to help
Because I am not ready to give up

I can so relate to this. Even with help trying to get mine to look in the direction of the camera and be happy at the same time is quite a lot work lately. The ones you have are pretty good if you don't get the perfect one you are looking for. :)
Family portraits are just hard I don't care who is taking the photo. I think any one of these would have worked!
A lot of good attempts...but I agree - taking a family photo is difficult if you're trying to take the photo yourself! You over achiever you!!! :) That last one is almost right-on, though...pretty close...
You have some amazing backgrounds to work with (and amazing subjects, of course...). Your walls must be filled with photos..are they?

Pennie~ We moved in May and it took me until last week to finally get pictures up on the walls but now they are filled :)
FootPrints~ I will come to Hawaii in a heartbeat!! :) It is getting cold here don't tempt me..hehe
Keep trying! :) I think they look cute so far. Have you tried using a wireless remote? I have one they are pretty neat.
I find that when I look at pictures I am rarely in them because I am the one taking the pictures! The last one looks great to me, although sounds like a good excuse to go to Hawaii. Some beautiful backgrounds there.
I think you are extremely talented....what a beautiful family.
I can totally relate! By the time I get the shot my husband is scowling.
